I have been meaning to blog this for a while now- so here it is!
Yes- the room was blue before and I wasn’t bothered about painting it pink when I was pregnant and found it was going to be a girl. This fact tricked a lot of people into thinking we were actually having a boy!
I really didn’t want to spend a fortune in setting it up but I thought it was important that it have character and be as girlie as a blue room can be!
The gorgeous red and white quilt was handmade by my mum Marg. The hot pink cushion with “Adelaide” stitched on it was handmade by the very talented Verity Stubbs- yes- as well as being a photographer extraordinaire she is also clever at crafty things too! The Japanese style ‘stuffie’ was handmade by Melly from Melly and Mewho we met last weekend at the Daylesford Craft Experience- I will blog a separate entry about that day soon. The cross stitch duck sampler was done by my also very clever friend Lay- I’m surrounded by crafty people!
The Raggedy Ann doll is mine from when I was a little girl, Peter Rabbit is from Alistair’s Mum (Adelaide) and I made the bunting! The owl artwork I got at the Flemington market, the butterflies on the wall and the gorgeous playmat are from Adairs Kids. The rug on the floor, the canopy, the curtains and the book shelf are all Ikea. The little drawers are Aldi.
Enjoy!
