Maree is one of those people who laugh constantly. She always has a smile on her face and nothing fazes her. On her wedding day- she laughed and laughed – even when she cried.
I was lucky enough to meet these over 5 years ago when I photographed Adrian’s sister’s wedding. When I met them I secretly hoped they would one day ask me to photograph their wedding so I was just thrilled when they called me to do exactly that. Between then and now Adrian lost his father Ian in a car crash so it made this wedding particularly emotional and I have tears in my eyes even typing this. I met Ian and he was a lovely bloke who would have just loved to see Adrian finally marry Maree after all the years they have been together. Maree arranged to have a pocket watch with Ian’s picture in it and gave it to Adrian the night before the wedding so his Dad could still be with him for Adrian and Maree’s special day.
Adrian’s grandmother stopped into Maree before the ceremony and gave her a family heirloom to borrow for good luck. It has been a part of many family weddings over the years and Maree was thrilled to pin it to her bouquet for the ceremony. I love this kind of welcome. Maree is an ‘inlaw’ but Adrian’s Grandmother still wanted her to use it. I just think that is so beautiful.
Maree’s Dad is a big strong bloke but was brought to tears when he saw his little girl for the first time in her dress. He couldn’t stop staring at her and I loved every minute of it happily snapping away. To me – these moments are what weddings are all about.
Adrian is quite a reserved and even shy bloke. Needless to say once the official wedding was over- we all let loose to get a few photos on location. Gorgeous Echuca- you can’t beat it. The ceremony was at Perricoota Vines Resort and the reception was at Rich River Golf Club Moama. Check out the stunning sunset and some classic dancing. You go girls!!! Loved it!
Enjoy!
