These two met whilst working at Bunnings- can you believe it- what a fab story! Stef comes from a large family and I had to laugh when Darran recalled the first time he approached the family home to pick her up on their first date. “There were these two little kids pressing their noses against the glass screaming ‘he’s here he’s here!!!!!’. Darran said he nearly turned around and walked straight back to his car! Well one of those little kids was one of Stef’s lovely bridesmaids for their day and a lot has changed since that very first date.
Darran & Stef are currently living in Hong Kong and came back in May for their gorgeous autumn wedding- although the weather wasn’t glorious- we did get some dry weather which was a definate bonus!
Living away from Melbourne really gave Darran and Stef the inspiration behind their wedding day. They really chose to celebrate everything they love about Melbourne. Stef got ready beforehand at The Blackman Hotel. What a fabulous place! Stop by for a look if you can and even sit down in the french cafe for a croissant! They were married in a small laneway in the city at a lovely little art gallery called : Warburton Lane Exhibits. We then had photos at Carlton Gardens and Hosier Lane- no doubt both Melbourne icons and fab photo locations. The reception was held at Friends of Mine Cafe in Richmond with the catering done by The Bright Young Things – and I can tell you I ate the most delicious chick pea dish I had ever been served and being a vego – that’s really cool!! They were amazing!! Everyone danced the night away to the always fabulous Baker Boys. Awesome.
The number of guests was kept to a minimum as Darran and Stef wanted the chance to spend time with all of the people they care most about and have a cosy intimate feel. It did just that. Really really lovely.
Well done guys.
Enjoy!
