This is the last wedding I will blog before my break and what a beauty to end the year on!
I warmed to this couple instantly when we met at a wedding expo many moons ago. David and Theresa met at University and have been growing as a couple and creating memories together ever since.
On their special day they were surrounded by lots of friends and relatives and lots of love. You could feel the warmth they create amongst everyone there. Everyone was also so welcoming to me – I felt like part of the family and was a bit sad when it all came to an end.
The ceremony for their wedding was a church in Drouin followed by a reception at the gorgeous Wild Dog Winery Warragul. It was my first visit to this stunning venue and I can see exactly why they wanted their wedding reception there. It was gorgeous. The staff were also very welcoming to me which is always a sign of a great venue.
The speeches for this wedding didn’t disappoint. It has got to be one of my very favourite part of most of the weddings I shoot perhaps it’s because I don’t know the couples quite as well as everyone else in the room and it gives me more of an insight to their lives. One line from Theresa’s father in broken English had the room in uproar. “David: In all my years of marriage, I have alearned one thing about the women in this family: Theresa is to be loved……not understood”. Ha! Brings tears to my eyes hearing that again.
During his speech David revealed a secret he had kept for 2 years. The day he proposed to Theresa he had actually organised a videographer friend of his to record the whole thing on tape. To Theresa’s amazement- they had it playing at the reception and she just couldn’t believe her eyes. Well done David!
Not to be outdone- David’s Dad had a final surprise up his sleeve for the couple. They had written a song about David and Theresa to the music of Waltzing Matilda- handed out all the words to the guests and they all sang along. It was wonderful and everyone got into the spirit of it.
David and Theresa: I have no doubt whatsoever that you will have a wonderful life together. Please have babies soon so I can keep having an excuse to catch up with the both of you!
Enjoy!
