A few weekends ago I was lucky enough to take a little time out to attend the Daylesford Craft Experience- which provided some overdue ‘food for the soul’ with all things crafty. I have been a little bit out of it with a newborn in one hand and laptop in the other catching up on work! Adelaide came with us as well as my Mum Marg and long time friend (and my prep teacher) Pam Rees.
It was coordinated by the very clever ladies Merrilyn from Threadneedle Craft Daylesford and Zoe from Purl’s Palace Next time you are in Daylesford- these two shops are definately worth a visit.
They had 3 very talented craft experst on hand to show some projects and chat about their expertise- and boy- was I totally out of my league!! There was Jodie Carleton of Ric-rac and Anette Eriksson as well as- wait for it- one of my all time favourites: Melly from Melly and Me designs I was totally and utterly starstruck when I met Melly- she was the one who designed the first softie I ever made called Edward- those who have been reading this blog for awhile will hopefully remember him.
Melly was wonderful and also very generously had made Adelaide a little Japanese stuffie for being the youngest member on the day. Just devine and now sits proudly in her nursery.
It was some great inspiration and I look forward to hopefully collaborating with Melly in the future. Exciting!
Enjoy!
