Yay- my first ever softie! I’m very excited.
Late last year I decided I needed a hobby so I thought sewing might be good for me. I started first with some very basic sewing lessons at the The Thread Den which opened my eyes to a whole new world. The ladies there were so great to deal with and answered all my very basic and quite silly questions. I then found a Jelly Roll of awesome material which I couldn’t resist buying so that set me on track to do my first ever quilt. I received a sewing machine for Christmas and was off and running. My quilt is well on the way and I will share some pics of the progress soon.
I then went to the Australian Quilt Covention with my Mum – I never thought I would actually really enjoy it- and had a great day! That’s where I saw Pheobe the elephant- a pattern developed by Melly and Me and I knew I had to have it. I decided I would make him male- hence “Edward” and found some absolutely gorgeous Amy Butler fabrics to make his body from. He is a very modern male elephant- epsecially with his red toe nails!
It was a fun project and I enjoyed it greatly. Mind you- he wasn’t made with much talent and some of the stitching is quite terrible- however he was made with very much love. He is now off to his new home in Wangaratta with baby Max B.
Enjoy!
