Whilst editing and reliving this wedding all over again- I laughed and I cried.
At first glance- you wouldn’t expect the wedding of Raymond and Kathryn to be so emotional- but every aspect of this day was emotional. I don’t mean we cried all day but there were definate tears at the times that counted. It’s not just feeling the love between these two and the privelidge it is to watch on as two people pledge to love each other forever- it’s all the other emotions. It’s Dad seeing his beautiful daughter in her dress. I can’t really imagine that feeling. Adelaide is 18 months old I know how quickly that time has flown so I can only try to imagine what parents feel to see ‘their babies’ getting married. It’s monumental.
I love the fear, nervousness and excitement written all over the face of Kathryn and her parents when they arrive at the ceremony and walk down the aisle. It makes my heart beat faster looking at that pics of this moment and this is what being a real wedding photographer all about. Feeling everything you are shooting.
Then there is the look on Raymond’s face when he sees Kathryn for the first time. This has got to be one of my favourite parts of every wedding I am involved in. No words are needed at that moment- he simple can’t take his eyes off her.
The love and respect this couple has for their Father’s as they are chosen as witnesses.
The joy and delight once the pressure of the ceremony is over and the realisation that these two are now husband and wife. I love big cuddles!
The ceremony was held a the beautiful Nanga Gnulle in Bendigo – it was the first time I had been there and it really impressed me. I also really loved that these guys put their own touch on everything to do with their wedding- they really made it unique to them. They are into Speedway and cars and that was apparent in their details and little touches- included their cake toppers!
Congrats to both of you- I’m sure you will be happy together for a long long time.
Enjoy!
