Two girls met, fell in love and got married.
Ok- technically- they didn’t get married- as currently the law does not recognise gay marriage in Australia. I believe that if two people want to be together then what harm is there in them getting married? If Kristy’s 92-year-old grandmother can bless their union and doesn’t have a problem with it- then why should anyone else?
This wedding has got to be one of my all time favourite weddings.
It may be to do with the fact that these two girls are great friends of ours but I think it’s also a combination of many many other things.
The ceremony & reception were held at the magnificent Monsalvat in Eltham which is a stunning backdrop for any occasion. It’s amazing buildings and grounds make you feel as though you are in walking around an exotic location in central Europe. If you have never been there it is well worth a visit.
Two brides means two lots of getting ready photos before the ceremony and each was stunning in their own way. They managed to stick to their own style and personalities yet match perfectly once they came together at the ceremony.
Kristy and Tracy were surrounded by the people they love most in this world and you could feel the love really flowing around the room when they saw each other for the first time. The love kept on flowing and there was so much emotion in the entire ceremony- to the point that I was too busy wiping tears from my eyes and nearly missed the photo of the rings going on- so thanks Anne for the wake up call!
The theme of the wedding was peacocks- as they wander freely around the grounds of Montsalvat but not always where you need them to be. As if by magic- we all walked out of the ceremony to be greeted by one right outside and it seemed like fate had really played a part!
The moments with Kristy’s gorgeous 92- year-old Grandmother had me in tears again whilst I was shooting it and again a week later when I was still making my way through the first edit of these photos.
We wandered throughout the gorgeous buildings and grounds for their photos and were even snapped by a very large mob of papparazzi whom were enjoying drinks by the pool. Ok- it was the wedding guests- but I don’t think I have ever seen so many cameras and phones snapping away!
The Great Hall looked spectacular and topped off with a wedding cake by a special friend. The girls entered and did a choreographed dance which a big hit with the guests.
The dancefloor really did rock all night long. Any party I have been to where gay people have input to the music being played has always totally pumped and this one was no exception. I even got to have a boogie- you may spot me if you look hard enough- well not that hard! Thanks Daz for have a dance with me and James for snapping the pic with my camera.
A great sign of mega enthusiasm on the dancefloor is when someone actually splits their pants. Now that’s what I call a real party! Well done Adam- you had us all in fits of laughter and were a great sport about it.
Girls- congrats again on a fabulous day and here’s to a fantastic and very very long life together in bliss.
Love you both.
Enjoy!
Elise xo.
I think these are some of the best wedding photos I’ve seen !
Congratulations ladies – the photo of you both with Kristy’s grandmother gave me goosebumps and tears x
Wow. Wow. Wow. We can hear the music and laughter. The mood and love at this wedding has been captured beautifully. Congratulations to the photographer. The subject matter wasn’t too bad either. Perhaps we could pass on the split pant but that’s a memory too especially as we know the weight gain had been referenced earlier!
Such beautiful photos of two wonderful women! The pictures of them seeing each other for the first time brought tears to my ears and made my heart skip a beat xxxx
Wow Although i just stumbled on this website by mistake these pictures had me crying….such a beautiful story has been told with such love. Thank you.
