david & theresa’s engagement session (melbourne photographer)

This has to be one of my favourite Engagement Sessions of all time – you may gather than from all the pics I have blogged from it. The shoot just shows how you can really make your session personal to you and get truly unique photos from it. Theresa and David shared with me their love for books and playing the board game Scrabble so I asked them to bring it with them for our shoot. I knew of a great little place called The  Journal Cafe in Flinders Lane which I know has books as a part of their decor and would make a great backdrop for some pics of these two lovers immersed in a game of Scrabble. I just love the results. They also had the idea of bringing the Nerf Guns for some fan/silly/crazy shots which I also loved. We also wanted their photos to feel completely different to their photos from country wedding in November. Notice the fabulous colours they are wearing? It really makes a difference to photoshoot when colour is used well and also the funky accessories Theresa had just added to the fabulous overall look of this shoot.

Now that I have explained a bit about how this shoot was styled- let me tell you about this couple. I met them around 18 months ago at a bridal fair and we instantly clicked. They are both very down to earth and easy going- and so obviously best mates as well as soulmates. I just love that. They have a great sense of humour and lots of fun together.  I am really looking forward to photographing their magical day in November.

Enjoy!
